It’s been a long time since we had a regular episode – this episode featured a long time friend yelling at us from outside during one of the mics. Oh yeah, it’s also got the hot jams.
Aw shit, it’s been awhile since I’ve heard some new Cage. Here is the first video from his new album Depart from Me, directed by Shia LeBouf. Wasn’t this guy supposed to make a biopic about his life?
I’m back from our nations capital, did you miss me?
It’s been too long since I posted some videos up in this jam, and I don’t I’ve EVER shown any porn on this site. Let’s change that.
Here goes the trailer for 50 Cent’s sextape featuring none other than Rick Ross’ Baby Mama #2. This should go without saying, this video is super NSFW but not explicit enough to you know… actually depict any sexual acts, everything is blurred out.
On the really real, that’s a cute woman.
Oh, and I answered my own request, here goes a Charles Hamilton song I like, “Loser.”
OMG, it seems everywhere I go on the net it’s Asher Roth this Asher Roth that. Why the fuck do I want to hear about how you used to play baseball? I think the kid is dope, but he might be second in overexposure only to our nation’s President, and he gets a pass because he actually has a job that is, you know, important.
Nevertheless, here goes the animated video from Asher, “Lark on My Go-Kart.”
Joe Buddens’ The Padded Room didn’t do much for me-I thought it was a very well put together album, but I just can’t get with dudes beat selection. Still, I can’t front on this video:
These last two are going to be from some up and coming cats. First we have D.C.’s Tabi Bonney.
Look for more consolidated music video posts in the future.
I do this for me as much as I do to show other people. When I was compiling the 2009 Music Video Award, I realized that I just wan’t on my music video game. This year, I made a pledge to step my shit up.
Here is a video from one of my favorite groups and subject of our only Men of the HALF HOUR (along with the Grouch), Ugly Duckling. I didn’t like Audacity too much as an album, nor did I like Bank for the Buck, but their first three albums were killer!
P.O.S.’s debut album, Audition, was pretty good. He has a long way to go flow-wise, but the dude has personality. I especially liked “De La Souls,” which is a re-work of De La Souls “I Am.” His new album, Never Better is dropping soon on Rhymesayers Entertainment.
Here is the video for Drumroll, which is up there with Exile as one of my favorite videos of the year thus far.
A regular episode. We also give our opinions on the Chris Brown/Rihanna situation, Rob Schneider, and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

I usually try to stay away from Justus League cats outside of Phonte, no one impresses me all too much. Median can be pretty dope, but I’m just not feeling his albums. Guys like Joe Scudda, Legacy, and even Big Pooh arerun of the mill rappers that don’t do anything out of the ordinary.
Skyzoo however, I am really feeling. I first heard him on a Wale track awhile ago and thought he ripped it pretty hard. I just copped his corner store mixtape, I am hoping it lives up to my expectations.
Anyways, here is a video with Panama and Skyzoo. Panama is looking pretty sharp with the sweater vest and tie. Is he related to Lupe Fiasco at all? The similarities are uncanny.
Keith Murray is dope. I remember back in the day people would clown his “philosophical, logical, ontorlogical…” flow, but I always thought it was pretty dope. He is definitely an original.
It’s crazy to me that Keith Murray is the one with the biggest rap sheet out of that clique. The old saying goes, “watch out for the little guy, he is the most dangerous one.” I guess that applied to Keith.
Episode 75: Crew of the Hour – Def Squad episode drops tomorrow.
A hip hop podcast, dedicated primarily to the independent or underground genre. A group of friends, overwhelmingly male, get together, play dope tunes and talk about whatever they feel like. At times, the result is awesome, at others it is awesomely bad.
