Yes, this is a hip hop blog, but it’s made by Steelers fans who live in Pittsburgh, so let’s put down the “jungle music” (copywright, my Dad) for a little while and talk some football.
Wow, what a Super Bowl. Last year was a great game, but this year really outdid it. I am obviously biased, though.
I will always remember the feeling of let down I experienced after Larry Fitzgerald scored that touchdown:
Larry went to Pitt and I am a Pitt dude, but seriously, fuck him. Fuck Steve Breaston, too. Over the past few days, there have been all of these people saying, “I am glad the Steelers won, but I am also glad Fitz played well.” Who cares? He is a great player, but once he graduated I stopped caring for him.
“No… no… hell no!”
By the same token, I will never forget the ELATION after Santonio caught that pass in the end zone.
Big Ben had some BALLS to even throw that pass. WOW, just amazing. On Letterman he talked about how he was SURE that the pass was intercepted, but Holmes somehow managed to do the impossible.
James Harrison seriously scares me as a person.
I don’t know what Francisco did to warrant this, but here in Pittsburgh we were like, “WOW!” We were amazed and shocked for a moment. Then a after the shock wore down, it was more like: “Well Harrison, if you thought he deserved it then he probably did.
Just like when he BODYSLAMMED this Browns Fan.
You just don’t FUCK with Harrison!
On a more positive Harrison note, here is the 100 Yard Touchdown:
Most people don’t talk about the GREAT block from Lamar Woodley at the end that enabled Harrison to get the touchdown. If he hadn’t done that, the half would have been over and the Steelers would have had a chance to even try for a touchdown.
All in all, one of the best games I have ever seen. I am glad to have had the opportunity to see it. As my friend Laura S. told me, “My President is black, my head coach too!” It’s even more funny because she is a white.
